HOW MUCH OF IODINE SHOULD ONE HAVE?
As per the recommendations of the World Health Organisation only 150 mg of Iodine is required for the human body on a daily basis. The sources for this amount of intake of Iodine could range from sea foods, vegetables such as potatoes or beans, cow’s milk, boiled egg etc. The fortified with iodine salt is said to contain approximately 77 mcg of iodine in one gram of salt. Consuming excess of iodine in your food intake can be deterrent to your health leading to thyroid disorders and consequent diseases such as Graves’ disease. It is not advisable to take supplements of iodine without proper medical advice.
